Priest-in-Charge Vacancy

We are looking for a new Priest in Charge (Half Time)

We are a warm, welcoming and prayerful congregation with a heart for the community, located in a growing Aberdeenshire village.  Our current mission statement is “bringing people to Jesus”.  We sense and eagerly anticipate a fresh work of the Holy Spirit amongst us.

We seek a suitably qualified Priest, with excellent leadership, teaching and pastoral skills, to identify and develop the potential within our congregation, and to extend our spiritual life and witness to the local community, which covers a relatively wide geographical area.

We own and meet in a charming church located on the Main Street of Alford, a commuter village some 25 miles west of Aberdeen on the A944.  We make very good use of the coffee machine and dishwasher as we practise the gift of hospitality. The building is open every day and visitors are welcome. Do drop in and see for yourself.

Our worship is primarily Eucharistic, with an informal service held generally once each month. Our worship embodies both traditional and contemporary elements, and is supported by a Lay Reader, readers, speakers and intercessors from the congregation, and an Organist.

The successful applicant will be required to occupy the Rectory, which is a semi-detached three bed roomed house in the centre of Alford.

At present we are a small congregation and can offer half SEC Clergy Standard Stipend (3 days per week). If the church grows the contract may be reviewed.

The appointment is subject to holding a current PVG certificate, and driving licence.
